Leuke plaatjes voor de mensen / Nice pictures for the people

Gisteren hamerde ik er bij die studentes nog op om onze (ahum) collecties vooral open te gooien voor het publiek, om er beschrijvingen en tags aan toe te laten voegen, om ze aan andere dingen te laten koppelen, om ze op een eigen site of blog te laten gebruiken, om ze.. Nou ja, alles eigenlijk.

Goed gevolgd..
En vandaag lees ik in dit bericht op de blog van Jessamyn West dat de Boston Public Library, die sinds kort ook in Flickr is gesprongen, naar aanleiding van reacties op een eerder bericht van Jessamyn, mensen nu ook laat taggen en doen bij hun collectie.

Mooi om te zien hoe ze bij die Bostonse bieb blogs en reacties volgen.. en er ook iets mee doen!

En dat ze gelijk hebben, dat weten ze bij de Library of Congress al een tijdje, want zij zaten al in Flickr. Kijk eventjes hoe mooi het volk hun fotocollectie toegankelijk maakt.

Ik zeg: niet meer over praten, maar gewoon doen dus! :-)

Oh well, about anything actually.

And today in this post on the blog of Jessamyn West I read that the Boston Public Library, which is recently to be found on Flickr, after following comments on an earlier post of Jessamyn, now also lets people tag and do stuff with their collection.

Good to see that at the Boston library they read blogs and comments.. and actually act upon them!

And in that they're right, and already known at the Library of Congress for a little while, because they already were in Flickr. Please check for a moment how wonderful the crowds have made their photo collection accessible.

I say: stop talking about it, and just start doing so! :-)
